EDUCATION
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
- Taught undergraduate courses in editing, directing, special effects, introduction to video production and film as a collaborative art.
- Taught online graduate course in editing, narrative theory, documentary, and sound design.
- Taught live course in Digital Cineam Post-Production Residency.
- Collaborated with three faculty and a consultant on redesign of online editing course.
- Designed the post-production track for graduate thesis projects.
- Supervised and served on the committee of eight graduate thesis projects.
- Designed and taught undergraduate courses in editing and sound design for multimedia.
- Supervised thirty-three students in post-production residency.
- Taught online and live undergraduate courses in Introduction to Film, Introduction to Video Production, Film Technique (16mm Film Production), Film Festival, Editing, Producing/Directing Nonfiction, Producing/Directing Narrative, Directing the Actor, Script Analysis, Film/Video Scripting, Selected Topics in New Media and production participation.
- Collaborated with three faculty and department chair to shape and build a newly developed major in Theatre and Video.
- Served on the Scholarship Committee, Video Game Committee and Grant Writing Committee.
- Supervised over thirty-five students' films and twenty-seven students' theatrical productions.
- Designed courses in Film Technique (16mm Film Production), Film Festival and Selected Topics in New Media.
- Designed online courses for Introduction to Film and Script Analysis.
- Advised approximately fifteen students per semester.
- Demonstrated software, sound equipment, lighting and cameras.
- Secured $5000 in funding from the Undergraduate Research Summer Institute for the production of Marlowe.
- Taught Film Analysis lecture hall and a course in Media Writing 1.
- Supervised three students in Independent Projects.
- Supervised seven teachng assistants.
- Taught labs for Media Writing 1, Introduction to Media Arts, New Technologies, Acting for the Camera, and Film Analysis.
RESEACH/CREATIVE INTERESTS
- Interdisciplinary storytelling techniques with a focus on film and new media. Currently researching Chinese Medicien, massage, personal training and kinesiology's relation to the film and and new media representation of the body (psychologically and physically).
- Representation and identities of underrepresented groups in film and new media.
- Directing, producing, editing and writing for film and new media. Currently working on preproduction for a feature action film based upon a gay action hero. Currently working on a webseries entitled 99ckob.
